The Kibbutz Industries Association (KIA) represents assists and promotes kibbutz industry, which constitutes the primary economic foundation for the kibbutzim. The KIA, founded in 1962, is the umbrella organization representing more than 300 industrial plants on kibbutzim, cooperative, moshavim and regional enterprises deployed throughout Israel, most of which are in the periphery.
The kibbutz industries are focused primarily in traditional branches of industry and are characterized by high employee loyalty and commitment, accelerated development of export, innovation and high managerial standards. The KIA looks after the interests that are common to kibbutz industry enterprises and represents them in public institutions and among various economic and business entities.
